Jakarta (ANTARA) – The second Youth 20 (Y20) pre-summit meeting, to be held in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province from April 23-25, 2022, will discuss the role of youth in the digital transformation of G20 countries .
The meeting will also highlight the benefits of digital transformation to increase young people’s awareness of digital finance and promote their inclusion and innovation in digital governance.
Therefore, Y20 Co-Chair Gracia Paramita noted in a statement on Tuesday evening that two sub-themes of the meeting will be the role of young people in digital governance and the development of digital finance.
Paramita noted that several young people had apprehensions about the security of private data online and the implementation of big data.
“According to a survey we conducted of 5,700 young people in 19 (G20) countries, 64% of respondents said they were worried about the security of personal data on digital platforms,” he said. she stated.

Respondents expressed concern that the data was susceptible to being traded on the digital black market.
Meanwhile, on digital finance, young people expressed concern over the rise of online lending and financial apps.
“In addition, the meeting will discuss how to take precautionary measures against illegal online lending and other illegal digital transactions,” the Y20 co-chair said.
The survey also revealed that 61% of respondents experienced internet connectivity issues and faced high costs to get high-speed internet service.

The youth forum expected Indonesia’s 2022 G20 Presidency to establish strict law enforcement for digital offenders to stamp out illegal data trade that harms the public.
“In addition, hoaxes, misinformation, misinformation and hate speech will become the second topic of digital governance discussion. A campaign is needed to stop misleading words,” Paramita remarked.
She felt the attempt is important because sometimes people forget their ethics in the digital space.
The Y20 Summit to be held from July 17-24, 2022 in Jakarta and Bandung, West Java Province, will focus on the theme “From Recovery to Resilience: Rebuilding the Youth Agenda Beyond COVID-19”. 19”.
Y20 is an official communication forum for young people from all G20 member countries.
