Going out to eat during a public health crisis is difficult.

Eating at a restaurant found making their tacos with their hands, storing their meat on the floor or having rat droppings on plates makes it worse.

The Metropolitan Health District conducted 12,964 restaurant inspections in San Antonio throughout 2021. The good news is that 99.3 percent of all restaurant inspections were completed with a grade of 80 or higher. But just like in your algebra class in high school, some don’t get a B.

We compile each 2021 inspection and filter for the worst of the worst. Below, you’ll see instances of ants on a cinnamon theft, several businesses lacking hand soap and a restaurant that got two spots on the list.
