Damage reported in Wilcox County from Saturday night storms


According to Wilcox County EMA Director Larry Brown, a tree fell on a house at 936 Falcon Circle.

WILCOX COUNTY, Georgia – A family were in their home when a tree fell on them during a storm in Wilcox County on Sunday as inclement weather moved through the area.

According to Wilcox County EMA Director Larry Brown, this happened at 936 Falcon Circle in Abbeville.

Brown says the family saw the storm coming and had just entered their house before the tree fell. No one was hurt.

Also in Wilcox County, several power lines have been pulled and several homes are without power. Brown says the crews are readily working to restore power.

In Rochelle, a shelter near the leisure center lost its tin roof due to the winds and caused minor damage to the center.
